The Singapore Food Festival is an annual event held every July that demonstrates Singapore's culinary and gastronomic journey that allows one to appreciate our local delights through our Singapore culture and heritage for both locals and tourists.

The event this year is the 19th edition of the Singapore Food Festival and was kicked off at the Waterfront Promenade at Marina Bay on the 13 July up till the 22 July.

The theme for this year's event is "Seafood Tales of Temasek",

In addition, there will also be cooking workshops and demonstrations held by both international and local chefs such as Chef Eric Teo, who is also the Food Consultant for this year's Singapore Food Festival

Ticket holders to these cooking workshops and demonstrations are able to pick up some beneficial culinary skills from these chefs.

The spotlight dish of the Singapore Food Festival 2012 is none other than the first ever Seafood Platter that Singapore Food Festival has initiated.

This platter is offered by Seafood Paradise under Paradise Group which includes Crisp-fried Prawns tossed with Salted Egg Yolk, Deep-fried Coral Trout in Nyona Style, Stir-fried live Geoduck with Asparagus in XO Sauce, Supreme Seafood Fried Rice and a choice of either Seafood Paradise's novelty dish, Creamy Butter Crab or Chilli Crab.

Based on my research, this dish delighted many of its customers by providing only the finest and freshest ingredients. A food blogger from Cuisineparadise-eatout.blogspot.sg commented that she "loves the taste and texture of the fried rice" and the "salted egg yolk prawns are tasty too". This proof favourable for the Seafood Platter, as well as for Seafood Paradise. It also ignites the purchasing decision of this dish during the event period.

Apart from the main event being held at the Singapore Food Festival Village at the Waterfront Promenade at Marina Bay, some of the other highlights of the event includes Seafood Treasures, Tales and Trails at Kampong Gelam
